Psychopharmacology for Therapists with David Rosenthal, M.D.
This presentation will provide the therapist with a basic understanding of medications and medication alternatives commonly used to treat psychiatric illnesses. Subjects covered will include: indications for the use of psychotropic medications, typical dosage ranges used, common side effects that therapists should be aware of, working with medical providers, and conditions under which to contact the prescribing doctor. Information learned in this presentation will improve the therapist's knowledge and comfort level in interacting appropriately and effectively with health care providers who prescribe these medications.

David Rosenthal, M.D., is a child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist who earned his medical degree at the University of Iowa School of Medicine in 1986. He practiced psychiatry in various settings in California for many years and treated thousands of patients before co-authoring the book ADHD: A Survival Guide for Parents and Teachers. He has lectured widely on ADHD and mood disorders, and is currently in private practice in Boulder. He is currently working on a second book on ADHD for grade school teachers.

If you have any questions about this presentation or need directions please feel free to call Stacey Arnett at 303-921-2475. We look forward to seeing you

The Market Place is here! www.coloradopsychotherapists.com
The Colorado Association Psychotherapist (CAP) has created the Market Place. We have spent the last few months developing excellent search engine recognition of our web site www.coloradopsychotherapists.com We will continue to market our website to professionals and to the public. Our intention is to create a Colorado based psychotherapy site that has benefits for both the public and professionals. The Colorado Association of Psychotherapists has been in existence for over fourteen years. We are an advocacy group protecting the rights of psychotherapists to practice and the right of the public to choose psychotherapists with safety. Our long history of working with the legislature has been expanded to focus on the development of psychotherapists and their practices.

We have created the Market Place for you!

Put it on your Calendar Annual Meeting 11/3/06....we want to do something different this year...How about a dinner at a restaurant with a speaker?

All my best, Zoilita Grant MS. CCHt. President of the Colorado Association of Psychotherapists
